Stratford City
Overview
Quod has led the planning process at Stratford City since 2002, advising the principal development interests including Lendlease, the Olympic Delivery Authority, Westfield, London and Continental Railways, Manhattan Loft Corporation, Stratford City Business District Limited, Qatari Diar, Delancey and Get Living.
Details
Quod remains a retained adviser and one of the few consultants embedded within client teams, providing incisive, commercially informed planning advice. This long-term involvement helps clients shape and de-risk future proposals, responding effectively to changing economic, political, social and environmental conditions.
OUR ROLE
These sites include Westfield Stratford City, East Village (formerly the Athletes’ Village for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games (“the 2012 Olympics”)) and Stratford Cross. Together they comprise over 4,000 homes, 140,000m2 of retail floorspace and 414,000m2 of commercial floorspace, supported by significant social infrastructure, high-quality open space and public realm, and major public transport improvements. Members of the Quod team have been involved at every step of the journey, from securing the original Stratford City outline planning permission, to the adaptation of buildings in preparation for the 2012 Olympics. This all led to the delivery of legacy developments with the occupation of East Village into a new residential neighbourhood (one of the first build to rent developments built at scale in the UK) and the new mixed-use commercial led quarter at Stratford Cross.
