Policy
It is essential to be able to influence policy and plan making, at both the national and local level, and then interpret them once they are in place in order to deliver successful planning strategy. Quod are leading experts in both.
At the national strategic level,John Rhodeshas advised Government on the preparation of the NPPF, reforms to CIL and Local Plans and Quod are engaging closely with DLUHC on the emerging planning reforms through the Levelling up and Regeneration Bill. Quod also advise DLUHC and PINS on improvements to the DCO process for national infrastructure projects (including through active membership of NIPA) and have contributed to various regulatory reviews to the housing sector.
At the local level, Quod has a wealth of experience in successfully promoting land through the development plan process, helping clients prepare a robust evidence base (including through housing and employment needs analysis) to identify and articulate the case for site allocations as well as the formulation of development management policies that will best deliver sustainable growth.
The accurate and inciteful interpretation of policy is a fundamental part of the day job at Quod, in order to provide clients with sound planning strategy, to challenge the brief and to ultimately deliver successful and viable development projects.
Engagement
Quod has a strong network of officer and political contacts across all tiers of planning governance including at DLUHC, the GLA and local planning authorities across the country. Quod deliver effective pre application engagement strategies in order to ‘front end load’ the planning process to ensure efficient and timely planning decisions.
Community engagement is equally important, crossing over with policy in relation to neighbourhood planning, to understand the needs and vision of local communities to deliver community and political support. Quod have led on strategies for effective, thorough and innovative community engagement initiatives.
