Kier, Logistics City, Thurrock
On behalf of Kier Property, Quod acted as lead planning advisors to secure full planning permission for a mid-box logistics scheme totalling 172, 794 sq ft across four units, ranging from 35-55,000 sq ft. Logistics City in Thurrock is a major new development set in the heart of the West Thurrock industrial area on Motherwell Way, close to Junction 30/31 of the M25. This was a £37 million investment in Thurrock, creating 300 jobs. The development provides four distribution warehouses in a range of sizes with office accommodation.
Careful consideration has been given to the design and scale of the buildings, to ensure they relate to one another and their surroundings, but are also appropriate for their function. New public realm and landscaping will significantly improve pedestrian and cycle permeability around the site and local area which was identified as one of the Council’s key aspirations for this area.
The site is situated in the heart of Thurrock and close to the retail occupiers at Lakeside Retail Parks, one of the largest shopping areas in Europe. This was a popular development with pre-lets secured with Selco and St. Gobain.
