Replacement windows and cladding consented at five tower blocks in LB Camden
Quod have recently gained planning consent on behalf of Camden Council for the replacement of windows and cladding at five tower blocks that make up the Chalcots Estate in Swiss Cottage, Camden.
Working alongside Neil Davies Architects and ARUP the proposals have been carefully developed in consultation with local residents and in consideration of all site-specific design criteria. In line with pre-application advice received from the London Borough of Camden Planning Department, the design emphasises the verticality of the facades, and the materials are similar in colour and are consistent across the five towers.
Key planning issues considered were the impact on views from the four surrounding conservation areas, the proximity to the designated view from Parliament Hill to Central London and construction impacts on the amenity of residents.
