Quod welcomes Urbanistas
Last week, Quod played host to Urbanistas: a women-led network of built environment professionals whose aim is to amplify the voices of women to make cities better for everyone. Urbanistas cuts across the development sector with members ranging from planners, engineers and architects to academics, developers and community engagement specialists.
Quod donated its boardroom (and a healthy dose of wine) to Urbanistas’ London chapter for their most recent event, an Expo, where women present fledgling projects for discussion, and Urbanistas crowd-source support to help the ideas grow and progress. At the Quod Expo, Sarah Bell of UCL spoke about plans to expand UCL’s Engineering Exchange; Emma Kent of Cundall broached the sore subject of our aging population; and Amelia Hunter of Studio Weave presented an idea to innovate the way we work. It was a great evening of disruptive debate – what Urbanistas do best.
Quod is proud to be able to support such a vibrant and diverse network of women seeking to effect positive change in our sector.
Urbanistas’ London chapter is run by Quod’s Charlotte Mitchell, along with Emma Kent of Cundall and Sarah Castle of If_Do. If you’re interested in finding out more about the Urbanistas network, please check out the Urbanistas website or contact them by email.
