Quod success at the JLL Property Triathlon & Duathlon
In our fifth year taking part in the JLL Property Triathlon & Duathlon, we had a strong team of 29 taking part. This year’s event raised money for the children’s charity Starlight. Team Quod was also raising money for Mind, our corporate charity for 2016.
The day started out looking fairly miserable but the sun eventually got itself out of bed and we enjoyed a great day of racing.
With almost 4,000 competitors from across the property industry taking part we were treated to a great day of sport ranging from all levels of seriousness from those in fancy dress on Brompton bikes to those taking things a little more seriously.
The Duathletes were first to the start line and sadly got the worst of the weather. The Duathlon covers a 5km run, 21.2km cycle and another 2.5 km run. Andy Pearce takes the men’s Quod Duathlon title with an impressive finish of 01:29:27 and Helen Rodger takes the woman’s Duathlon title with 01:33:30.
The Triathlon covers 750 m in water, 21.2km on the bike and a 5km run to finish off the legs for the day. Charlotte Mitchell took the Quod ladies title with an impressively fast time of 01:24:18, she had Issy hot on her heels only a minute and 19 seconds behind her with a finish of 01:25:37. These two ladies deserve a special mention for both finishing inside the top 10 of their age group and within the top 20 of the whole female field. Tom Woolner took the Quod men’s title with a painfully quick time of 01:16:15.
This year we had four relay teams taking part, Team Quod A (Calum, Stephanie and Liz C) took the Quod Relay title with a time of 01:27:38.
A massive thank you to everyone who took part for being such great sports. Great to see so many Directors taking part this year and so many of you that are new to Quod and new to the sport. Hope we’ll see you back again next year.
