Quod Obtains Major Croydon Consent
On 14 November 2017 Quod achieved a resolution to grant outline planning permission for the redevelopment of the existing Whitgift Centre and surrounding land in Croydon town centre.
This significant mixed use scheme will replace the existing Whitgift Centre with a modern new shopping centre featuring c. 170,000sqm of retail floorspace, c. 17,000sqm leisure floorspace, up to 1,000 new homes, potential hotel and student floorspace and over 3,000 car parking spaces. New areas of public realm and local infrastructure also form a central part of the proposals.
The application was approved unanimously at planning committee marking the next big step towards scheme delivery for Westfield/Hammerson following the 2014 outline consent and 2015 CPO decision.
