Planning Consent for Merchant Land in Camden
Last week Camden Council Development Control Committee voted in favour of Merchant Land’s scheme for the conversion and extension of an existing employment site in the heart of the Charlotte Street Conservation Area. The scheme will deliver a roof extension across the three plots to provide 7 residential units, 2 new retail units, extensions at the rear and the delivery of approximately 1,000sqm of new office space at ground and lower ground floor levels.
Quod played a key role in the negotiation of a number of issues, including loss of historic fabric/conservation area impact, loss of employment floorspace, daylight and sunlight impacts, construction impacts, noise interaction between proposed uses and successful engagement with local stakeholders.
This development will become the new HQ of Merchant Land and their parent shipping company.
