Improved Rail Infrastructure
On the 6th March Quod’s Leeds Director, Tim Waring, chaired the West and North Yorkshire Chamber’s round table discussion with the recently appointed Minister of State at the DfT, Andrew Stephenson MP. Andrew is responsible for HS2, Northern Power Rail and the Trans-Pennine rail upgrade. The discussion centred on the economic case for improved rail infrastructure in the North, and notably the Leeds City Region, and the opportunities it presents for meeting the Government’s objectives for ‘levelling up’ as well as other aspects of the Northern Powerhouse agenda.
