Quod to support Heathrow Airport’s expansion

Heathrow Airport, the UK’s hub airport, has announced it is to prepare an application to expand with the addition of a new runway. Quod is one of seven firms appointed by Heathrow to design the plans for its delivery.

Quod has historically worked closely with Heathrow Airport Limited (HAL), providing strategic planning and socio-economic advice to inform HAL’s growth strategy and operational development. In particular, Quod supported HAL on its submission to the Airports Commission in 2015.

Quod is proud to support HAL in its preparation of an application, which will be proposed in the context of the publication of the Government’s forthcoming National Policy Statement on Airports, due 2017/18. The appointment of Quod follows the Government’s announcement in October 2016 that the preferred location for airport expansion is a new runway at Heathrow Airport. Quod will aid HAL in undertaking extensive engagement with a wide stakeholder base, including local communities.
