DCO examination complete for Wylfa Newydd nuclear power station
Horizon Nuclear Power, aided by strategic planning advice from Quod, has successfully reached the end of the DCO examination period for Wylfa Newydd nuclear power station in Wales.
This significant achievement and major milestone marks the end of an intensive six month period, in which almost 1,000 documents were submitted to the examination by Horizon, the Planning Inspectorate and Interested Parties.
Quod has provided specialist advice to Horizon in collaboration with other suppliers since 2015. We have also authored a number of key documents, worked closely with stakeholders through the Statement of Common Ground process and represented Horizon at multiple hearings.
The Inspectorate now has three months to make a recommendation to the Rt Hon Greg Clark MP, who is the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). He then has a further three months to issue a decision on the proposal.
Quod regularly provide specialist advice on the most complex DCO applications, such as: Wylfa Newydd nuclear power station; Sizewell C nuclear power station; Hinkley Point C nuclear power station; Heathrow Airport; and, Thames Tideway Tunnel.
