Charlotte Mitchell selected to join national infrastructure advisory panel
We’re delighted to announce that Charlotte Mitchell is to become a member of the National Infrastructure Commission’s new Young Professionals Panel (YPP).
This new initiative from the Commission, the independent body tasked with advising government on the UK’s long-term infrastructure, aims to ensure a strong voice for the next generation of infrastructure leaders for the country. The Panel will support the Commission across a wide range of infrastructure programmes as well as developing their own ideas to enhance long-term infrastructure for the UK.
As an Associate at Quod, Charlotte works on a range of strategic planning projects – from garden towns to airport infrastructure and much in between. Whilst on secondment to the Department of Communities and Local Government, Charlotte developed the planning and governance strategy to underpin the Government’s proposals for the Oxford to Cambridge corridor. She will be bringing her experience in planning for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, and her enthusiasm for shaping the infrastructure and development industry, to the YPP.
Sir John Armitt, Chair of the National Infrastructure Commission, welcomed panellists to the NIC over breakfast on Wednesday morning alongside Professor Sadie Morgan, Commissioner and chair of the YPP Selection Panel, and Phil Graham, Chief Executive of the NIC.
The Commission launched this initiative in December 2017 to find the brightest and the best of the UK’s infrastructure professionals to inform its work, and has selected the 16 panellists from over 500 entries. We’re thrilled that Charlotte will be joining the YPP and look forward to supporting her as she helps the NIC to explore new approaches and ideas to the way we plan and deliver infrastructure in the UK.
